About
Sam Chen is a multidisciplinary visual artist and television host whose practice spans painting, digital installation, and curatorial work. Born in Taipei and raised in San Francisco, Sam's work interrogates identity, diaspora, and queer visibility through bold color and unexpected material combinations. As host of LGBTQ Television Network's arts programming, Sam brings the same curatorial rigor that earned them a residency at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art — creating episodes that feel as much like gallery experiences as television.
Sam's installations have been exhibited internationally, and their work is part of several permanent collections focused on LGBTQ cultural heritage.
"Visibility in art is both resistance and celebration."
